Review of Himalaya Fresh Start Oil Clear Face Wash

Packaging: It comes a plastic squeezable tube with a flip-flop cap which makes it easy to open and use. It is travel-friendly and won't cause a mess your handbag. The packaging is transparent which is great as it helps to know how much product is left.

Fragrance: To me, fragrance plays a really important role. It directly connects to my brain first and because it is a fresh start range, I expected them to smell extremely refreshing and I was expecting that each variant will be having its own dominant fragrance.

But to my surprise, there is hardly any dominating fruity refreshing fragrance. I couldn't even tell if I am using a lemon or peach variant. Citrusy fragrances are my favorite and sadly, there was no such refreshing lemony or citrusy fragrance. At least, I couldn't notice it. The strawberry one has a little bit revealing fragrance but here, I am not a fan of the strawberry fragrance. 😂 I personally liked the fragrance of Blueberry variant but it doesn't smell like blueberry. It smells just a refreshing scented cleanser. 😃

Colour and Consistency: All the variants have their own individual colors and have a runny gel-like consistency. There are rolling beads in the face wash which can be easily felt on the skin. Beads are not at all harsh or poky and they just give my skin a mild massage which feels good.

My Experience with Himalaya Fresh Start Face Wash

My Skin Type: Combination to Oily, Sensitive and Acne-Prone Skin

Literally, all the variants work in a similar way. They don't have anything different. Their consistency, effectiveness and cleansing power is all same. It easily forms the lather and removes all the dirt and oil easily.

It is soft on the skin and I don't have to rub hard on my skin to make it work. It cleanses well leaving my skin oil free but while washing off the face wash, it leaves a soft layer on the skin which I personally don't find satisfying. It is good during winters I guess. In such cases, I feel like the product is left on my skin and I keep on washing it. I love those cleansers more which leaves the dry touch feeling while washing off as I have super oily and sweaty skin.

After washing, I can easily notice that it cleansed my skin well without leaving any trace of dirt. To remove my makeup, I personally use a makeup remover first instead of directly washing it off with a cleanser. No doubt this face wash makes my skin oil-free.

Himalaya Fresh Start Oil Clear Face Wash Peach

It is not a strong deep pore cleanser and neither it leaves stretchy dryness on the skin so even if you are dry skin beauty, you can go for it as it cleanses the dirt without making skin excessively dry. But don't forget to moisturize your skin later no matter what skin type you have. I do use these semi-strong cleansers when I feel dry patches on my skin.

If you love that soft layer on your skin while washing off, you will like it. It will work for all skin types as neither it is a moisturizing face wash nor a heavy duty oil-free cleanser. If you are eagerly wanting to try these, you can go for it as no doubt, they cleaned the skin well but if you have super oily skin like me and are looking for a heavy duty cleanser for oily skin, you may not find this satisfactory.

In short,
Himalaya Fresh Start Oil Clear Face Wash cleanses well and removes all the dirt and oil and leaves the skin fresh and clean. They leave a layer of moisture while washing off which I personally don't find satisfying as it feels like product is left on the skin. In terms of fragrance, they don't have such a dominating or refreshing fruity fragrance.
Pros
  • Affordable
  • Cleanses Well
  • Leaves skin Fresh and Oil-Free
  • Paraben-Free
  • Travel-Friendly

Cons
  • Not a Chemical-Free Product
  • Not a Deep/Strong Oil-Clear Cleanser (Con for Oily Skin)
  • Leaves a layer of moisture while washing off (Psychological Satisfactory Con) 😂

  1. Nice and honest review. I too don't like face washes which leave a layer on the skin. So I will skip this..

  2. I love how colourful and bright this range looks. And I like seeing that they are moving away from parabens.
